
Catholics, as well as other denominations, have turned to the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary as a form of prayer. Traditionally, each mystery in the Rosary is dedicated to a specific Spiritual Fruit. Faith-filled Friends presents a form of the Rosary in which we pray for a particular virtue with each mystery.
Joyful Mysteries: Monday & Saturday
1. The Annunciation (Purity): Dear Mother, you willingly gave your entire body and soul to God in order to fulfill His will. Holy Spirit, continiously discipline me to keep my mind, body and heart pure so that Your will can be fulfilled in me.
2. The Visitation (Charity): Dear Mother, carrying Jesus within you, you immediately set out to care for Elizabeth. Holy Spirit, inflame me with the desire to help others thereby bringing Christ to them.
3. The Nativity (Poverty): Dear Mother, you bore the King of kings unto complete material poverty though rich in love. Holy Spirit, guide me to live in the spirit of poverty and moderation so I may value what is truly important.
4. The Presentation (Obedience): Dear Mother, you and St. Joseph obeyed the laws of Moses by presenting Jesus in the Temple. Holy Spirit, assist me to be obedient to Your laws and the precepts of Your Church.
5. The Finding in the Temple (Responsibility) Dear Mother, Jesus heard the call from God the Father to learn all He could about Him. Yet at the same time, He knew He had to obey you and St. Joseph. Holy Spirit, cultivate responsibility within me as a Christian and toward my family and neighbors.
Sorrowful Mysteries: Tuesday & Friday
1. Agony in the Garden (Fortitude) Dear Mother, Jesus suffered so much for me. He resisted temptation to give up even though He knew what lay head would be difficult. Holy Spirit, encourage me to have fortitude especially during difficulty.
2. Scourging at the Pillar (Chastity) Dear Mother, not only was it painful to watch Jesus being beaten but it must have been scandalous to see Him stripped too. Holy Spirit, assist me to protect was is private and intimate in chastity for me as well as my neighbor.
3. Crowning with Thorns (Humility) Dear Mother, your heart must have ached watching your Son, who truly is a KING, being mocked in such a way, enduring such cruelty. Holy Spirit, provoke humility within me so I may perfectly imitate Jesus and bear all things in meekness.
4. Carrying of the Cross (Patience) Dear Mother, what an unbearable sight as you watched your Son who is so patient with others, patiently bear the weight of the cross. Holy Spirit, teach me perfect patience as I carry the cross I am called to bear.
5. The Crucifixion (Love) Dear Mother, you watched Love Himself hang on a cross to die. Holy Spirit, nurture me with the capacity for the same unselfish love for everyone around me no matter who they are.
Luminous Mysteries: Thursday
1. The Baptism of Our Lord (Orderliness) Dear Mother, Jesus started His ministry with His baptism to fulfill the will of the Father. Holy Spirit, motivate me to have this sense of order in all aspects of my life so I too may be free to always do His will.
2. The Wedding at Cana (Friendship) Dear Mother, you interceded as a true friend at Cana in your children's time of need. Holy Spirit, arouse in me the same desire to be a true friend to others and to assist them with the same giving spirit.
3. The Proclamation of the Kingdom (Industriousness) Dear Mother, you watched your Son waste no time in preaching the Good News of the Kingdom to all. Holy Spirit, inspire me with same zeal in my duties as a Christian.
4. The Transfiguration (Understanding) Dear Mother, what a grace to see Jesus dazzling white as His Divinity shown through. Yet Peter and John did not recognize the moment. Holy Spirit, instruct me to obtain better understanding of my duties and obligations in my state of life and be more understanding of others.
5. The Holy Eucharist (Generosity) Dear Mother, how blessed I am to have your Son and my Lord, Jesus Christ, in the Blessed Sacrament. Holy Spirit, as I contemplate on the generosity of His Holy Presence in the Eucharist, kindle within me the same generous heart to serve God and others.
The Glorious Mysteries: Wednesday & Sunday
1. The Resurrection of Our Lord: (Hope) Dear Mother, you knew intimately the hope that is Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit, train me to always recognize the hope we have in Him and to trust in Him.
2. The Ascension of Our Lord: (Faith) Dear Mother, from the beginning you had faith and trust in God's plan for you. Holy Spirit, catechise me so my faith will grow and that I am endure any hardship that may come along in my life and grow in trust.
3. The Descent of the Holy Spirit (Optimism) Dear Mother, after giving your son Jesus back to the Father, you awaited as He sent the Divine Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to dwell with you and the Apostles. Holy Spirit, spark optimism within me and always remind me that with You all things are possible.
4. The Assumption of Our Lady (Loyalty) Dear Mother, loyal to you, Our Lord took you to Heaven to live forever through, with and in the Holy Trinity. Holy Spirit, foster within me this loyalty to You and all those I am called to be loyal to.
5. The Coronation of Our Lady (Perseverance) Dear Mother, As you were Crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth, all of Heaven shouted for joy. Holy Spirit, exhort me so that I too should always persevere, especially during tribulation.
